I realise that this is the most important day in any young couple’s life. This day is completely about YOU, celebrating your love for one another, and the celebration of two families coming together. It’s a day for laughter, joy, nerves, tears, love, friendship, family, hair… and of course the drunken cousin who uses this day as an excuse to make a fool of himself. These are the moments I am there to capture.
I aim to portray the HONESTY of the day, the moments that actually occur and don’t need setting up.
The last thing you want on your day is a pushy photographer, taking the wedding party aside for hours so they can feel they’ve ‘captured the moment’. And what do you end up with? Pictures of five people standing in a line, looking at the camera, wishing they were at the reception eating, drinking and being merry.
Of course I will also take photos of the wedding party; the bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents and flower girls are all integral parts of the wedding. However, I will either do it artistically, or as a fly-on-the-wall, capturing real moments that don’t exude cliché.
When photographing the couple, I will do so creatively and with minimum fuss. I will scout the area first, and then make sure we get the perfect picture without “How about here?” or “This might look nice”. The final product will be an artistic and beautiful shot, which lends itself to canvas prints as well as it does to a framed enlargement.
Alternatively, if you have already organised a wedding photographer, I can provide the invaluable service of a candid/second photographer. With the pressure taken off me to capture ‘the kiss’, ‘the cutting of the cake’ and other necessary wedding shots, I am free to move around the ceremony/reception and take more personal shots of friends and family. And I will do it for LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE.
A second photographer gives you the added documentation that many weddings lack, such as the reactions of the family and little moments that that may go unnoticed to a wedding photographer, but are undoubtedly precious to the married couple. These are the pictures you look back on and truly cherish, as they portray the HONESTY of such a beautiful and important day.
